How does the SafeCare program benefit families?

The Research

The SafeCare research project aims to understand how families benefit from participating in the parenting program. This research project is being done separately from the agency that is working with you.

Here's an informative guide to our project, featuring our primary investigator and research coordinator!

The study is made up of different parts, and you can decide which ones you wish to complete. There are 4 visits with the research team that can be completed at a time that works best for you and your family.

During these 4 visits, we will collect:

  1. Questionnaires

  2. Video recording of you and your child playing together

  3. Hair strand from you and your child

  4. Saliva sample from you and your child

  5. Activities that a researcher will complete separately with you and your child

Full completion of all study components will take around 1.5 to 2 hours. You do NOT need to do all the tasks to qualify for compensation. You will receive a $100 gift card for each visit ($400 for all 4 visits). Your information will be kept confidential and will not be shared with the agency working with you.
